Cheese-making traditions in Russia date back to ancient times, but a special chapter in their development belongs to the village of Lokot in the Sevsk district, where, in the 19th century, a story began that continues to inspire us today.

In the second half of the 19th century, in the very heart of the Black Earth region, on land once owned by the Romanov family, a butter dairy was established — the economic and production core of a noble estate.

It was more than just a technical facility; it became a center of local agricultural progress, where milk was first processed in the European style in the region.
